We we're traveling and ...

We we're traveling and needed a place to stay the night. We called them around 10am the day of where we wanted to check in because I end up getting better rate I've found. We got the extra extra rate and it was good. We ended up getting there and had a king bed and a queen bed for our kids. The room was clean and close to the pool. The kids enjoyed the pool. Overall we liked it and we decided we wouldn't mind staying there again when we travel Hwy 1. We will be back in a few months and hope our experience will be the same or better. The only improvement would be 2-ply in the bathroom. Never understand why bathrooms go cheap on that.

It had been nearly ...

It had been nearly 40 years since I had stayed at the Inn at Morro Bay with my family (late Grandparents etc.) and with my husband and I doing a 3,000 mile road trip on our Harleys I wanted to travel down memory lane. Our reservations were perfect, our room was great with the exception of sometime in the middle of the night, the sink backed up and then drained which we discovered in the morning...kind of creepy if you watch a horror movie right before bed...lol. But the most incredible thing aside from the sunset was the service we received from Mateo and Jerry (I'm sure I'm misspelling it and I apologize for that Jerry) who were left to single/double-handedly man the restaurant and bar. First, Mateo is a busser/food runner who stepped up to the plate to be a server when there was a staffing mix up and they were left completely unstaffed. He kept his cool and didn't let the pressure of being the rookie-server show. Total Class Act. Bravo. Jerry was behind the bar, yet stepped out to help pick up the slack when it REALLY got busy. His cheerful attitude and laid back demeanor only complimented Mateo's which kept a potential disaster from even lurking nearby. If the Inn at Morro Bay doesn't realize what a great team they have in these two, I dare to say they will lose them to a corporation that sees it as clearly as we did. By the way, the food was wonderful, the wine and other beverages we enjoyed as we adjourned from our dinner table to the bar to watch the picture perfect sunset could not have been better. Anything that was lacking was made up for in the enthusiasm and charisma/charm these two great kids offered. It will definitely NOT be another 40 years before I return as long as these two superstars are there.
